Hi Everyone,

For those of you who don't me, my name is Ciaran McMullan and I live in the village of Ballymartin just outside Kilkeel in Co Down.

In May 2009 I shall be setting off to Egypt to do a Trek in aid of Action Cancer. Action Cancer is a leading Northern Ireland charity providing lifesaving cancer prevention, early detection and support services and always keeping in mind that early detection saves lives.

It is frightening to admit that everybody has a relative or a friend who has suffered from Cancer. Recent statistics as shown that 1 in every 4 people will be diagnosed with cancer and 1 in 3 will die from cancer. That's why it is so important to provide funds to combat this terrible disease. For Action Cancer to carry on with their life saving duties they must raise a massive £3.6 million every year.

Please help me to raise funds for Action Cancer by sponsoring me for Trek Egypt. Not only will the Trek be a huge mental and physical challenge but the training in the weeks and months leading up to it will require alot of hard work and self discipline. However it is a challenge that I am determined to complete for Action Cancer and hoping that funds raised will make a difference.
